The City of Kenora and Kenora Makwa Patrol are partnering once again to collect warm items for those who need them most in a Winter Warmth Drive. Donate your clean, gently used, warm items at the Lake of the Woods Discovery Centre, 931 Lakeview Drive, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., seven days a week. We are closed on Monday, October 12, 2026.

Chess Club is back this fall at the Moncrief Construction Sports Centre. Our Early Fall Chess Club runs Tuesdays from October 13 to November 10, with options for both youth training and open social play.

The City's Recreation Department is looking for community feedback on its spring and summer recreation programs, activities, and events. You are invited to complete the Spring and Summer 2026 Recreation Survey.

Please be advised that paving on Lakeview Drive will take place on September 23 and 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The City is seeking public feedback on whether tocontinue changing clocks twice a year or adopt a permanent time system. Have your say and complete the Community Survey by September 30 at 11:59 p.m. Your feedback will help Council understand local preferences, potential benefits, concerns, and impacts on residents, businesses, schools, health care, travel, recreation, and cross-border services. 

Please be advised that Fourth Street North, from Veterans Drive to Main Street North, will be closed to all traffic from Tuesday, September 22 at 8:00 a.m. to Wednesday, September 23 at 4:00 p.m.

We are actively preparing for the 2026 Municipal Election and the current Boards and Committees appointments expire with this term of Council. The new Council will be seeking Kenora residents interested in serving as a municipal representative on Boards and Committees.

Road rehabilitation work on Carlton Road will begin on Tuesday, September 22, 2026. The project will be completed in two phases and will include culvert replacement, graveling and ditching. Road closures will be required during each phase. Motorists are asked to follow posted detour signs during the road closures.
